The Spanish Marjoram Spanish or Mastic W or White Thyme, Scientific Name Thymus Mastichina is a small, evergreen shrub of the lipstick family (Lamiaceae), – reaches 30-40cm, endemic of Iberian Peninsula , oval leaves and white flowers with a special aroma reminiscent of eucalyptus.
The essential oil of the Spanish marjoram is distilled by the dry and blooming peaks of the plant and is yellow and botanical, spicy, warm aroma. The main molecules of its chemotypical composition are 1.8-kinneol and linalol, substances with important therapeutic properties.
The essential oil of Spanish marjoram relaxes, calms and stabilizes the nervous system, fights hypertension, and also contributes to the treatment of anxiety, depression and insomnia. Pour a few drops into water, spray into the bedroom and enjoy a calm and deep sleep. It is also ideal for the treatment of migraine, headache and spiritual fatigue, but also for disinfecting and treating some skin problems, such as grease and acne. It is also significant for its heating and comforting effect and is therefore used for muscle aches and convulsions, in painful menstruation, in rheumatism pains, but also in sprains and other injuries. In addition, it opens the respiratory diodes, soothes bronchitis and asthma, and also helps to treat constipation, indigestion, flatulence and colic. Finally, in magic, it is considered an extremely protective oil, which brings luck and protects the spaces and objects from the evil eye.
