Originally from Australia, eucalyptus is a long, evergreen tree with rapid growth, a member of the Myrtaceae family, which reaches 80 – 90m. In the 18th century. Its cultivation has spread to Europe and now there are more than 500 species of the plant all over the globe. In our country the most common species is the eucalyptus the spherical, (Eucalyptus globulus), which has important healing properties. The first tree was planted in the Athens Botanical Garden in 1864.

Japanese researchers have discovered that eucalyptus is fighting Streptococcus Mutans, a germ responsible for the appearance of caries. Eucalyptus oil also helps heal wounds and light burns, but also in the treatment of eczema, and its disinfectant action is significant, as it kills bacteria and germs and cleanses the atmosphere of the space. Ideal for insect repellation. At the spiritual level, eucalyptus oil is used to increase self -concentration, as its aroma activates specific brain neurons, causing secretion of stimulant hormones.

Tip! To facilitate your breathing during colds, add a few drops of eucalyptus to a bowl of boiled water and inhale the vapors.
